The Institute for Diasporic Yearning and Longing(IDYL)
The Institute of Diasporic Yearning and Longing (IDYL) is an ongoing conceptual project that takes many shapes and forms. As an itinerant research institute, it's mission is to create meaningful connections between places of origin and places of habitat in an effort to alleviate nostalgia and melancholy for persons identifying as strangers in a strange land. Through collaboration and dialogue, the goal of IDYL is to develop a sense of rootedness that embraces a hybrid and deeply personal perception of home.
